Wildfire Crisis Implementation Strategy Industrial Roundtables

Between January and May of 2023, a National Planning Team consisting of the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, the USDA Forest Service, and Resources for the Future conducted industry-specific roundtables in each Forest Service Region to address the challenge of biomass utilization, markets, and waste disposal for the Wildfire Crisis Strategy Implementation Plan. From these roundtables, five cross-cutting themes emerged, in addition to region-specific opportunities for action:

  1. Road infrastructure improvement
  2. Certainty, trust, and credibility
  3. Workforce development
  4. New use and market development for under-utilized biomass
  5. National policy
