Endowment Solicits Input for Potential Future Partnerships

It is never too early to begin thinking ahead!  In keeping with that concept, the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities (the Endowment) today posted a Blog soliciting input for a potential second joint-venture with the Natural Resources Conservation Service under its Conservation Innovation Grants Program (CIG).  “We don’t know if the 2010 CIG will contain a category that relates to the Endowment’s priorities or even if it does, that we will seek to apply,” said Endowment President Carlton Owen.  In developing its successful application for the 2009 CIG program the Endowment reached out for priority concepts and ideas to help “find a winner” of real importance to the nation’s forests and rural communities.  “We think we did that with our ‘Healthy Watersheds through Healthy Forests Initiative,’” said Owen.  Anyone with thoughts about topics or needs that fit the CIG criteria are being asked to submit those ideas via the Endowment’s Blog or by sending an email directly to the Endowment.
