Brian Boland

Brian Boland is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in the forest products and packaging industry. Currently serving as Deputy President and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Billerud Americas, Brian oversees a $1.2 billion North American business, leading its commercial strategy and execution. In addition to his North American responsibilities, Brian is a member of Billerud AB’s Group Management Team, contributing to the company’s global strategic direction and operations.

Throughout his career, Brian has held senior roles at Billerud, ND Paper, Catalyst Paper, and NewPage Corporation, driving transformation, growth, and operational excellence across multiple disciplines including process improvement, strategic planning, government affairs, and new product development. Brian’s leadership is recognized for its data-driven approach, cross-functional team building, and effective communication with stakeholders ranging from Boards of Directors to elected officials and community partners.

Raised in rural northern Minnesota, Brian brings a deep appreciation for the role forests play in supporting local economies and sustaining rural livelihoods. His upbringing instilled a lifelong commitment to advancing small communities and promoting responsible stewardship of natural resources.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, summa cum laude, from The College of St. Scholastica. He is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and has served on industry boards, including the Wisconsin Paper Council, and is actively involved in community organizations.

Brian is honored to join the Board of the US Endowment for Forestry and Communities, where he looks forward to advancing multi-stakeholder approaches that strengthen forest economies and rural communities across America.
