Laura Garner

Laura joined the Endowment as Investment Director in April 2023 and brings over 30 years of investment, investor relations, and marketing experience to the firm.  In 2009, she began her focus on educating Foundations, Endowments, and Family Offices on the benefits of investing in the natural resources sector.   During this period, she was a Principal at RS Investments, a founding Partner at SailingStone Capital Partners and Director at Fleur de Lis Energy.  Previously Laura held senior positions at Merrill Lynch Debt Markets, Goldman Sachs Investment Management, Citigroup Alternative Investments, and Chase Manhattan Bank. 

Laura currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, a 100+ year old specialty animal hospital, where she chairs the Investment and Finance Committees and is a member of the Audit Committee.  Previously, Laura served as a Board Member of Milestone Capital Management, as President of her cooperative apartment building in New York City and as a mentor in the American Corporate Partners Program, a non-profit organization focused on assisting veterans as they transition to private sector employment. 

Laura holds a BA in English from the University of Virginia, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Anderson School at UCLA, and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).   While at Virginia, she captained the women’s tennis team, was elected MVP, and was a three-time ACC Champion. 

Laura enjoys cycling, hiking, reading, volunteering for animal rescue organizations, and is a devoted French Bulldog parent.
