Karl Stauber lives in Danville, VA, where he serves as President and CEO of the Danville Regional Foundation (DRF), a position he accepted in 2007.  DRF works to  improve the health, welfare and education of the residents of Caswell and Pittsylvania counties, NC and the City of Danville, VA.  From 1996 until 2007 Dr. Stauber was President and CEO of the Northwest Area Foundation, with assets of $500 million.  Before joining the Foundation he served as Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics with the US Department of Agriculture and Deputy Undersecretary for Policy and Planning, Small Community and Rural Development.  Dr. Stauber received his Ph.D. in Public Policy from Union Institute as well as a certificate from the Harvard Business School Executive Program.  He holds a B.A. in American Studies from the University of North Carolina.
